Sax embouchure is a lot looser and much easier to acquire than clarinet or oboe embouchures, so there's hardly any risk of that damaging her oboe embouchure provided she still keeps up with her oboe playing.

In the long term, she'll get more work in bands and pit orchestras if she can double on most woodwinds and should also consider adding some flute/piccolo playing as well.

If anything, saxes are far nearer oboe than they are to clarinet in terms of physics as both have an expanding conical bore and overblow an 8ve - although saxes are far easier instruments to play in comparison to both clarinet and oboe.
