Yamaha..... I had been impressed with them in the past. Probably more stable and more flexible than most Lorees. You can probably get a pro model for under 6 thousand.
You might also like to get in touch with Hanna's Oboes (www.hannahsoboes.com/) and Peter Hurd (www.oboes.us) => it is VERY likely that they can find a top-notch used oboe in better condition and better quality than a used Yamaha. Both put a lot of effort in ensuring an excellent state of repair.
