Yes, I know and like Muse-Score a lot because it runs on all platforms and is easy enough to use. At work, I use Linux, so it's nice to have something to use during lunch-break.
It also allows some degree of compatibility with the expensive ones by importing/exporting MusicXML and others. Printing to PDF is a really good feature
Keyboard note entry is actually pretty good. Arrow keys are used for adjustment (when mistakes are made) and letter-note-names are used for input with numbers for rhythmic values.
ONLY things missing are easy rubato and dynamics.
