Jazz oboe has seemed like an oxymoron to me. If one can play the saxophone, the sax is more fitting. Yuseef's sounds are so strident that I don't enjoy them. Once in a rehearsal band of Don Ellis', I heard Trent Knyaston play a good solo on "So What" using a student Bundy oboe. He, is now known as a fine saxophone player and an educator. Generally speaking, jazz oboe seems to have little future, although some individuals may succeed in making something out of it.
