Your advise was spot on Chris. I cleaned everything in the bottom joint and reoiled as well. Turns out that the rod that holds the spring beside the C# pad indeed malfunctions when it is screwed tightly, even after i cleaned and oiled it. What i did was find exactly how much i can screw it in to an extend that the low Bb linkage stays loose. At the end i melted a bit of wax and applied it to the screw post, hoping that it will stay that way for a while. Is this is a good solution? Is the root of the problem probably the rod being bent or as you say, the thread slightly out of line? How can this be repaired?
