 Oboe reeds
Author: Carol Dutcher
Date:   2009-11-25 00:51

My sister passed away first part of November. I have inherited her oboe, it is a Selmer Signet. I don't know the year, except she didn't play it since 1980. I will have to have repadded. But what I am wondering is, how do I figure out what type of reeds to buy for it. There were five in the case, pretty well dried out, so none of course worked. I'd appreciate any hints on picking reeds. I did play in high school, but more recently have been playing clarinet and sax, so I'm out of the oboe loop.

Thank you!!
