I like Glotin cane a lot too, as I find it has the buttery warmth of soft cane but the grains are stronger like a medium cane. Having said that, I'd suggest Grimaud Cane from Weber Reeds which is gouged on a Graf (double radius) set up by himself. Great gouge, and consistent medium-hard, dense cane. His default shaper is a Weber 1-C, which is close to a Gilbert -1.

If you want a different shape, I'd probably just suggest Chudnow, who gouges on a RDG machine (single radius). He has various types of cane of various hardness, so you could just call him up and discuss what's best for you.
