Yes, air important for life itself, no air = no go
... so all wind instruments no air = no blow
However as a resurrected player ... for me first most important step was embouchure development (along with essential oboe breathing techniques) ... without that can't contain reed within optimum parameters to produce good tone for long periods of playing time ... and oboy, sometimes it's a long time playing before a rest .. haha, this renewbie thinks 12 bars is long and 25 bars is a marathon ::=||
... next most important ... fingering ... best quality air support won't make any music without good fingering techniques, let alone please a director-conductor who wanted accurate notes yesterday ... my older fingers seem to have lost some springs ...
... then comes air support and air pressure management ... breathing techniques for beautiful tone and enriched vibrato any register ... important to have more abs instead of flab to keep all that going ...
... and finally, let's include articulations as a very important factor, some of which are best delivered by breathing techniques >>>
Yes, air support very important, but it's inter-dependent with the others
