A Late reply, but I second the comments about not needing to get a *Loree*. Yes, that is what I play, but my oboe is almost as old as I am (44!) and I bought it used. When I was at the IDRS conference in 2003, I played a LOT of oboes (what fun!) I was really impressed with Mark Chudnow's instruments, and a full-blown conservatory model was just a little over $3,000 at the time. Why don't you check him out? Plus, he also sells used oboes.
