I am very surprised that no one has mentioned Eugene Izotov. Check out the library section of www.oboesolo.com, and get the 'Sound in Motion' CD. I think he has one of the best sounds out there, period.
John De Lancie - playing the Flower Clock (mentioned earlier). I'm not the biggest fan of him in other recordings, but the Flower Clock is spectacular. Also, try to get a hold of his recording of the Gymnopedie by Satie (I believe it's with the London SO)
...and, of course, Alex Klein.
