Howard,
Very interesting perspective there from Mr. Schellenberger. I can't help but think it relates to the enormous influence of Tabuteau/Curtis on oboe education and orthodoxy here in the states. His disciples and their disciples are everywhere it counts! That and a bit of the ol' if it ain't broke don't fix it. But your point is very well taken.
