Reed Adjustments

This is driving me crazy. I live in a warm and dry climate and my reeds are killing me. The tone is fine, I can deal with that greatly, but pitch is insane! My reeds are a finished length of 71-72, use a brannen x tip, and DM loree tubes. The crow is at a high C low C# which for me isn't that bad all the time, but all my notes are almost a quarter tone sharp and its driving me crazy. I've taken more from the back, and tried to blend it all, thinner tip and thinned the heart (i like thick hearts) and its still extremely sharp. I feel like if i scrape anymore I will gouge a hole in the back. Any advice?
