I found that a leaky oboe did cause me to play flat in the lower register, but I think that was mostly because I made reeds that compensated for the leakiness by being long in the tip. Once I got my old Prestini sealed up, things were better. It doesn't have a B-flat resonance, so the B flat is still too low, but it's better.... I didn't get the Prestini all sealed up until after I had the Marigaux, and now I hardly play the Prestini anymore, so my familiarity with its intonation is waning.
