Hi, I just discovered a crack in my oboe. It's at the top of the lower joint, adn runs from the edge to one of the posts. Inside, it looks like the metal reinforcer accounts for the length of the crack.
How do I know if the crack needs to be pinned? The oboe still seems to play just fine. Is there any harm in leaving it that way so long as it doesn't affect the playing?
