I just saw this image of a clarinet on facebook - see attachment.
Imagine trying to play it!
If you find any other images of crappy clarinets, post them on here for a laugh.

That’s probably the equivalent of what I’d come up with if I was asked to draw a bassoon.

Google today, commemorating the 100th birthday of the late Belgian jazz musician Toots Thielemans.
A strange instrument with finger holes and keywork at the top right.
Toots did not play clarinet, but harmonica and guitar. And he was also known for his virtuous whistling. He played with Billy Joel, Paul Simon, John Denver and many others.

Luuk

Here’s a rare instrument developed for a player with 6 digits on their right hand, and who uses the uncommon “double cheek” embouchure with the mouthpiece rotated through 90 degrees so the reed is vertical. I believe this may be an early prototype, as later versions avoided the need for the right hand to “bridge” the side keys. Also the intonation on this model suffers from the throat A hole being uncovered at all times.

Chris posted “I can’t make out the bottle of rum”. On the evidence available my guess is that it was consumed by the painter.

This story came out on Yahoo a few years back. You'd think the guy would have noticed.
