Hello All!
Does anyone have any advice on a Double Clarinet case for an Eb and a Bb Clarinet.
I'm looking for a Double case that is fairly cheap and I dont want to spend more than $150-$100 for the case.
I have found one made by Gigliotti, has anyone ever used it and what are your views on it?

If you are really on a budget then you are probably best off making one.
An empty tool box, upholstry foam and some stretchy velvet and you're all set.
I did this for my recorders and it has lasted better than any of the cases for my clarinets, sax, flute or violin. I used a box from a tool shop that would be used for putting power tools in. It is nice and solid and has strong hinges and latches (I always break these). the addition of lots of padding makes it quite well insulated, although if you need protection from extremes of heat you might be better off with a proper case, or you could use bit of an artic quality sleeping bag - starts getting expensive though.

Yes, search this board for the word "case" and you will see some interesting posts.
You can fabricate the insides from cutout foam. Best to cut it with an electric carving knife (I got mine for $3 at a garage sale.) Then cover with plush. I put a 3/4" slab on the bottom, and cut the partitions out of several thicker layers. My case is thicker than most, and the bells stand upright.
You can also fabricated case partitions by coating thin plywood or other board-stock with foam and plush.
I have seen the price of small cases plummet in the last few years. The mail-order places I have dealt with still only have the high-priced ones, but some discount tool places have small cases for $20 or less. I think there was also a post on this.

I needed a case for an older boxwood clarinet which wouldn't fit in a regular case because it had 6 sections, including mouthpiece (rather than 5), and their sizes were different, too. I found a small one of those "Pelican" cases that photographers use for their cameras, got a new piece of the precut (1/2" blocks) foam, and pulld out pieces of the foam to make fitted places for the horn pieces. It makes a great case, one that is highly protective and virtually indestructable. Eu

I like mine. I have one that I got for Christmas. I really like it. It was well made and everything I need to take with me fits. I bought it on the internet for less that 100.00.
