There are, at least, two recordings which have big oboe solos which feature Lifschey playing the solo part. The Partita by William Walton and on the other side of that LP is the Mahler 10th Symphony which also has a lot of solo work on it, and then there is the LP of Stravinsky's Pulcinella (Suite, I think) and on the other side, is the Symphony in C, both of which have prominent solo work. The Stravinsky LP may be conducted by the composer, himself. I don't think these were ever re-released on CD. The Stravinsky LP is quite rare, but several of the Walton-Mahler disc are up on ebay right now. Also, I guess we shouldn't forget the Beethoven "Eroica", Symphony #3 under Szell. That one comes up frequently on ebay and was re-released on CD. Regards.
