I understand what you mean about the getting that dance rhythm happening. I feel like I'm just learning how to get that feeling from listening to records and looking at the harmony in the "complete klezmer" book charts.( just play the chord notes with the right feeling.) But countermelodies would be cool as well. Anything that gives you more diversity .
