The tip-noise problem you are experiencing is a common one. Often with a reed that sits very well up to pitch and is very stable this will happen. The cause of it, in my experience, is too much isolation of the tip. While isolation of the tip is extremely important in the holding-up of the high notes, too much can cause the tip-noise you are experiencing. In orchestra this sound is not usually audible from very far away and John Mack actually that that it helped the sound to project, however I understand that it can be rather annoying and for any playing in smaller settings can be noticeable by the audience. The solution which has worked for me is to blend the tip and plateau a little bit. That de-isolation will help get rid of the tip noise however be careful that you don't do it too much as your high notes could go flat. Another thing that has helped me with that problem is a blending of the plateau and windows. If there is a sudden drop off from the plateau to the back that can be another cause of the noise you are experiencing. If, after blending those sections, the noise continues, try clipping the reed and then only scraping the very corners of the tip to bring it back down to pitch and easy-response. One or a combination of these techiniques usually works for me!
hope this helps
