I've been playing oboe for a year and half now and I've had previous musical experience on the saxophone for 8 years. I use a tuner regularly when I practice and my reeds are made by my teacher who is also baffled by this situation. The only notes that I work with to get reasonably intune are the tuning pitch A, Bb and the G as well as third octave C - F (top of range). All other notes vary in sharpness from 25 cents sharp and up.
