Re: Do you rotate your reeds?

I've been playing the oboe for about 11 months now. I usually like to have at least 3 reeds for rotation, but I don't rotate each day. I sometimes try different reeds when I'm practicing because I play differently each day. Some days I'm more tired than usual so I use a softer reed while other days I'd prefer a firmer reed. I also base my choice on what sound I'm wanting. I guess I need to be more disciplined with my reed use, but I
find that my reeds usually last generally for about a month by changing reeds. I do have my favorites which are difficult not to use...especially when they are broken-in.
