Peter, my comments are on this thread above dated June 10 and my last posting on the 'sharp middle E' thread...

bottom line is...try both and decide which is right for you. I'd like to own both of 'em, but I decided I can live without the Royal, but I didn't want to live without a well functioning regular Loree...now, if I were a professional orchestral oboist, I would definitely own both and I'd probably use the Royal for the orchestral stuff, but I wouldn't want to play the Brandenburg Concerto on it, but maybe that's just me!
