 A couple of other things to try for a sharp E.
 
 - I find that this note goes severely sharp, much more than the surrounding notes, if I have too much reed in my mouth. Try backing off the reed just a little and see if the E stabilizes.
 
 - If backing off the reed doesn't help, next I check to see if the E gets even sharper as I crescendo. If so, I adjust the reed by taking a little cane out of the tops of the windows--in other words, accentuate the "step" between the windows and the plateau or heart.
