I believe yoga has a minimalist circular breathing exercise and they do it alternate nostrils too, no reed, no oboe, no straw necessary
boy, those army rifle trainers do lay it on thick, don't they, jeepers, underwater training exercises last longer than 10 seconds, geesh, gimme a break
i betcha fitness freak craig baby (or any other seasoned oboist) can still play 'way better music 75 seconds later than i can in maybe 25
i reckon one cute little oboe reed is a good close range weapon, imagine the damage that little sweet nothing blown ff directly into somebody's ear or up a nostril
dare i, in this infectious mood of giddy levity and *badinage, redirect the topic?
EXHALING seems to be the most important consideration in oboe breathing technique, and like swimming underwater holding one's breath, when one comes up for air, we instinctively don't exhale through the nose -- we open our mouths to let all that volume of hot heavy air out fast as possible
oboe full breath exchanges, like banter, no different
Q. Is circular breathing actually visible / audible to the observer?
If not, how can we tell if someone's doing a.r. ... uh, pardon me, c.b. ?
