I also saw that clip with the male oboist playing the oboe melody (the one with the Korean woman, Ennio is conducting as well), and perhaps it's the recording or the microphone, but it sounds as though he drops the phrase a lot. so, in other words, it sounds fragmented. It's nice to see players move with the music (not arbitrarily of course) but it has to enhance the phrasing, not replace it.
