Hey d-oboe, that fingering works like a charm. Actually the fingering for Eb is right on pitch with my oboe, so I'm very pleased. Thanks a lot.
NEXT QUESTION ABOUT THIS PASSAGE
I've heard several teachers tell me before to learn to play both the 1st and 2nd oboe part of this short little passage. (as if the 1st part isn't hard enough). They've said that sometimes while performing it, conductors will ask the principal to just play both!
1. Has anyone been asked to play both parts in an audition? Has anyone done it without being asked and gotten good or bad feedback?
2. Has anyone been asked to play both parts in a concert by the conductor? Any information I should know about this here?
I've never had to play both parts in an audition, but I decided it's time for me to practice both parts. Just curious.
