Re: Is there any way to correct a badly out of tune E?

Two questions: Does the note come out normally, if flat, or does the note sound muffled or strangled, or bubbly?

And, is it still doing it today?

I occasionally have embouchure challenges, especially when I'm tired or in a hurry, that make my low notes come out flat. But the next day they're fine.

Also, spit stuck in the key down there will make the note sound "off". I have chronic problems with my low F and E sounding weird, and taking the thing apart and swabbing out the middle joint fixes it. Maybe I just play very "wet".
