Worst day in your oboe reed history?

This is my story, what is yours?
-------
Coming home from a good day at the conservatory while a student there,
I returned to the little cabin my wife and I had bought about 20 miles out of town. (Cheaper than the rent for the roach infested appartments in town.)

We had a new pet dog, a husky and he was supposed to be in a training pen learning the house breaking routine and contained from other mischief.

Somehow he got out, went into the main room and pulled all my vinyl records out of the rack, chewed my beloved Gomberg record to bits, knawed on the piano bench ( I can't even print what he did to the grandfather clock I made from a kit) and then he somehow got into my music studio.

I opened the door to find all my music down on the floor, the potted plants knocked down, dirt spilled and tracked around after the little fellow relieved himself at some point. ( I played my senior recital with muddy dog prints still on the music.)

He finally made his way up onto my reed desk, chewed through two live plugged in electric cables and somehow survived. (The power supply to my digital tuner was cut in two...)

He got to my reed drying rack and chewed every reed and staple in some sort of frenzy (about 25 reeds) then moved across to the table where my gouger and cane prep gear was stored. I found the Graf gouger hanging over the edge of the table with less than 1/2 inch remaining before it toppled to the floor.

I took a picture of the carnage using a instant camera and I was shaking so badly it looks like I took it during an earth quake. The feeling I had then was something I still remember and hope to never experience again.

The dog, Sibelius Gandalf, became a beloved member of our family and running and swimming companion for many years.

But I never really trusted him alone in the house again.
