It looks like Robert Sorton is the oboe Professor at Ohio State University. I'm not sure if this is true, but if it is, Robert Sorton is also the husband of OhSuzan's teacher. Perhaps if you're nice and ask politely, she'll fill you in about Mr. Sorton. I know he makes great reeds and sells good consistent gouged cane.
Ohio State University has a long history of good music programs. My teacher at NEC, Laura Ahlbeck, went to Ohio State before going on to do graduate work with Mack.
