Well...there's that...and the sound is pretty rotten. the single reed allows for much less embouchure flexibility...you're basically stuck with whatever the reed is like. Even though the double reed can sometimes present problems in the learning stages it really does give the best setup - once reedmaking and adjusting are mastered.
