That's an interesting way to do a D... I've used the trill key one, and then I use 1/2 hole-2-3 but I don't put down 2 and C on the right hand.
Anyway, the first fingering sounds even worse than what I've been doing, and I'm only on the Eb twice in the entire passage and it's just a single 1/16th each time, so I may want to try the second one. I'm trying to figure out which trill key you're talking about though. I know the D between 1 and 2 and I use that as my alternate for D, but the second (bottom) trill key on the left hand has me confused.
