Do note:
1. She is 14 years old and plans to play in high school.
2. She will be taking the oboe back and forth to school on a bus quite regularly.
3. Wisconsin is known for cold and snowy winters.
4. Wisconsin suffers 105+ heat waves for multiple days at a time. (There's a heat awareness day in Wisconsin!)
I would suggest avoiding wood like the plague 'cause it's going to crack like an egg with your daughter walking about with it at school at the temperature extremes of your area...
