I have had some experience with fox oboes and I found that they didn't have the tone I was looking for in an oboe. If you are looking for a fox oboe, then I would go with the 800, i haven't tried it, but the first chair oboist in our school has one and sounds awesome on it. It is more money, but it will probably last longer. This is the 800 and its features.

You could also find a used Loree for about the same price as a new fox.
