I was thinking of starting this as a topic as well. I chose to get the music before listening to any recordings and I worked out my own "interpretation" of what is obviously a fairly open piece. It was kind of scary! I've since gotten the Sarah Francis and Allen Vogel recordings of the piece, and it was quite interesting to see how they differed from my naive interpretation. There are obviously some aspects of interpretation that have become conventional, but there seems to be a lot of room in this piece for differences.
