... there i was this morning, cleaning my oboe on the three-day count-down ritual to upcoming spring concert, and i got to wondering if anybody else has any special little rituals they always like to do before performances?
... oboe already had a check-up recently, all oiled and screws tightened up
... i also have a special ring i like to wear at performance, seems like a superstitious good-luck charm ritual, eh?
... what sort of rituals do people like to do regarding reeds? I like to blow in three so they're in their young prime about 3 weeks earlier, and then rest them until the last 3 days, when they get pre-wetted and gently warmed up for about 15-20 minutes each day, so they're not bone-dry on the big day
... seems like there's a 'ritual of three' keeps popping up for me
