If I am remembering correctly, A_Person is a seventh-grader, and so perhaps does not have as much mobility or freedom, or as many options, as an adult would have.
Tell me your general geographic area (i.e. "Central Indiana", "Southern California", etc.), and I'll Google some leads to oboe players and potential teachers for you to give your parents; you're going to need them to get in touch with these other adults for you most likely. Finding an oboe teacher is all about "networking".
