My daughter's clarinet used to pop springs like a maniac, and we learned to keep a very small diameter metal crochet hook around to pull and push the wretched thing back into position.

Get a metal one, as plastic crochet hooks don't come small enough to maneuver around the posts and stuff, and also simply flex annoyingly when you try to use it to push or pull the wire back into position; a metal crochet hook won't flex.
