 Only one reed per week! I just got Jay Light's book, and he recommends one per day. I figured that, for a student aiming for a career in oboe, that was perfectly reasonable. Five a day sounds, well, ambitious! As an amateur, I'm aiming to maybe scrape three a week...not so much because I need that many reeds, but because, as Mr. Light says, more frequent practice leads to greater consistency...
