Speaking from the viewpoint of a male I'd say give the Oboe a rest til that wonderful day when bubs arrives. I kinda understand your discomfort at not being able to get full lung capacity. I think I know somewhat what it feels like after I've had a large meal and then try to play the Oboe, or any wind instrument for that matter. It's uncomfortable and probably not good for the body anyway. Give the Oboe playing a rest for a while. Perhaps you could tinker on a keyboard for the duration.
