 Playing a Caldwell Loree
Author: MarcAZ67

hello all,
Been a while since posting. I own a very lovely I series Caldwell-bored Loree AK and am curious to hear from any former students of Mr. Caldwell or players of this oboe as to reed shapes that work best with it. My impressions based on what I've read about Mr. C and my own experiences seem to favor a slightly wider shape. I seem to have success with weber 1c. Experimenting with 1b and ok with Caleb -1....Mack not so much. What were his theories behind making reeds for these instruments, if you can share? anyone else out there playing on one?

Thanks,
Marc
