Hello Howard,
You were so lucky to get a chance to listen to Han de Vries's LP recordings! By the way, he only played with the Concertgebouw from 1962 to 1969, so the oboe solos you heard from the Scheherazade were probably played by Werner Herbbers instead (you can check the date of the recording).
