Robin Great Post.

My only comment is it might be a bit difficult to anaylze the sound apart form the player. Having said that - you can nuance the differences in the character of each Oboe Brand. And of course all depends upon your preference on how an Oboe should sound!


Albrecht Mayer is my favorite among the players for his warm inviting tone and wonderful phrasing.
