Yep, John Symer, possibly the best oboe repair person in the USA, recommends either that or gear oil as in differential gear or manual trany oil; he claims that sewing machine oil, clock oil or "woodwind shop oil" is much too thin & doesn't last very long. He did a lengthy video seminar on oboe repair in Muncie, Indiana at the IDRS conference. I heard it there. Honest.
