Despite the screwiness and unpredictableness of an amateur group, it is these groups that are most fun to play with. Like our conductor says people play in AMAteur groups because we LOVE to do it. Despite having opportunities to play in college ensembles, it's our simple little orchestra that I love most playing in. Everyone amicable and (mostly) tolerant of people at different levels. People put way more pressure on themselves when in fact, we're just glad that we have someone who wants to join us. We just had a doozy of a concert but we're shrugging it off and looking forward to the next one, sad that we won't meet up till next September.
