In defense of Robin, I think your question was answered very well. At least I learned from the answer.
Thinwall = improved response. This can be quite helpful.
It seems that you may be confused on your description of the stevens staples. I've looked on several websites, and I see these choices available:
Bore size = #1,#2, #3. 1 being the smallest.
Material = Brass or Nickel (German) Silver
Length = 47mm, 46mm, 45mm (maybe more as well)
Wall = Regular or Thinwall, already discussed
Scoring = Regular or Pro, Regular apparently is kinda like sandpaper on the outside to hold the reed. Pro is a smooth finish with the angled scoring on the outside to hold the reed
I have yet to see a "Prowall" model. Even googled it, and only this thread pops up. If you send us the link, maybe we can help you further. Also, shop around, the price difference is not really that much. And, a final though, tone quality differs greatly person to person, so you'll probably have to try a few of the staples yourself, and see what feels/sounds best to you. If they all feel/sound the same, choose the least expensive to save yourself money.
