Hello all,
I just got interested in the slight variations of sound in the oboe, basically the characteristic of the sound, i.e. raspy, hard or smooth and soft. I have seem to notice that some players have a really hard and edgy sound while for example my sound is more round and soft.
Another interesting note is two notes, A and C, mid register (tuning note and middle C). The C definitly sound un characteristic of an oboe... my understanding is that is normal. The A on the other hand is airy, and the only note that is airy. I am taking it to be looked at but it puzzles me why only 1 note is airy...
Oh well...
