Have you seen Ledet's "Oboe Reed Styles"? With pictures of reeds from players all over the world, he shows convincingly that no two players of any style of reed make their reeds exactly alike. My favorite is John Mack's reeds, he the quintessential Philly player using reeds made with a meat ax...
