Wow that is a great start! Plenty of information to get started. I love the thought of a Laubin. There was a school-owned Laubin EH at CCM and I went to that instrument whenever I had EH assigned. I contacted Alex at Laubin and was told that the Ehorn list was stopped in about 1989 or 1990. Sad. But he was able to make me an extra long bocal (3.5) which worked wonders with my instrument (a true closet classic from 1984 and still had pink cork pads, polish in the bore, silver-plate with no sign of wear, and a small crack in the second joint at the socket but otherwise pretty much new). I also use 2 Hiniker bocals (on reg and one "brilliant") so feel I good on the bocal front when trying new instruments. They may not be the right fit for the new horn I will eventually choose but will give me an idea of the characteristics of each by comparison. Thank you again and please keep the info coming!
