To find a longer (locking) screw, that small, might not be very easy but I would take the handle to a hardware store to see if they have something that would fit, I would also try a hobby shop (train/airplane, etc). What jhoyla (jeremy) suggests, might very well work. To get the angle 90 degrees to the clamps, I close the clamps, without locking the screw, over the shaper tip (without cane), and then lock the screw.
