How about resharpening your knife and thinning the tip some more?
You may wish to follow the advice of a famous oboe player in Rochester, NY who felt that he had to occasionally put his open reed case under an incandescent lamp for ten minutes to thoroughly dry out the whole reed. Moisture can get trapped in the butt of the oboe reed due to variations in barometric pressure, making it too stiff. Good Luck!
